up close there are a lot more details and small errors are blown up just like the size of the figure.  :closed-eyes:

I think it is a very good looking tabletop model. especially the 2 day beard is nicely done.  :eusa_clap: :eusa_clap:

tip don't blow a 2mm face up to 2cm.  On that scale no one scores a ten.  :icon_rolleyes:

Warrior priest counts as Luthor Huss sometimes

I need to sculpt a fancy long tail for his horse.

Note the purity seal I sculpted, this is about the extent of my sculpting talent.

Awesome war altar (I think I have most of those bits). :icon_biggrin:
It does look a bit big for just two horses, I'd add 4 just for coolness factor, but I can see how ruleswise this may be a problem.

Thanks, I had thought about adding a couple of more horses, or doing the old standby of having it drawn by Flaggies, but not sure on the execution fo the flaggies, and I envisioned some big lumbering holy relic that would seem awe-inspiring to the infantry around it.  I might yet ad a couple more horses, I want them to be fancier horses anyways, those I think are just stand ins for now, and I will change them later on, since nothing is glued together yet until after it is painted.

Nice spearman, the face is well detailed. Will be very impressive en mass. The war alter looks a bit heavy for those two horses. I personally think it would be better smaller and with a more joined look rather than the stuff simply stuck on top.

Nice idea using the 40k building parts to make a war altar.

You might want to remove or cover up a few of the obviously mechanic parts like the lights though, and customise it a bit more, otherwise the blank parts will stand out.. adding some torches, braziers and parchment from the flagellant sprue would really bring it to life.

Thanks for your comments guys, I saw some other Waltars with the 40k things, and figured I would give it a try.  I like the idea of a huge lumbering holy icon to inspire the lowly masses.

The lights on the flying butresses <sp?>  I covered with green stuff, and plan on painting them like giant gems.  I think once it is painted, I will see how it looks, and possibly add more.  I was afraid to add too much to it and overdo it

Yes its a nice War Altar, but I'd cover more of those 40k parts with Green Stuff: maybe a little arching into the inner curves of those support structures in the back and brick masonry on some of the most sci-fi-like decorations.
Want more horsepowers? Add a little steamengine to the back and cool smokepipes sticking out in many directions  :-P I'd like it.

An update now that I am back to painting some...I figured on posting some

First up heavens wizard.

Then a WIP shot of some artillery...  Only the canon is done so far, but I do have a bit of a head start on the base coat of the chassis since I did a basecoat of the scorched brown over the whole thing.  For the patina (first time I have ever done any weather like that), I did a weird mix of Enchanted blue, some gretchin green, a bit of white, and some thrakka green wash...mixed it all together with some water, and put it on in where it made sense.

Really good stuff here. The Close up on the spearman was cool, the shaft of the spear was amazing!

Yep, fairly purple. I like the bronze, but it looks a bit dusty.

Nice facejob on the gunner.
