Minsc's speedpainted Hochland. (Pic. heavy.)
« on: April 27, 2010, 10:48:07 PM »
It's nearly 2 months ago since I started Empire, and my army is nearing completion.
I've mostly speedpainted and used washes to 'clean up' the mess, but I'd say it turned out OK in the and anyway.

Mounted General/Captain/Templar Grand Master.

Mounted Captain BSB.

Mounted Warrior-Priest.

Warrior Priest with Great Weapon.

Converted Waraltar. (There's room for the WP to stand ontop of the platform.)

Captain with Great Weapon.

Lore of Metal.

Lore of Death.

Lore of Fire.

30x Swordsmen /w FC.

Handgunners

Archers

Crossbows

Outriders.

Pistoliers.

Reiksguard.

Special-Warmachines.

My 'count-as' Master Engineer.

Rare-Warmachines.

All images can be found here; http://www.pixbox.se/alb_show_id1178988_page0.html

WIP: 30 Flagellants.
To be painted: 20 Free Company, Steam tank.

Thanks for watching, Gun's 'n Roses welcome.  :::cheers:::

The grittiness pleases me greatly.

Shame they're not Nuln troops.  :engel:
I thought he should act responsibly and just kill himself.

Always wonderful to see a fellow Hochland army.

I like your style too, really helps to mute the bright colour scheme.

Hey, I've never seen that Gamezone General painted. Thank you!

Also, nice touch to have the Helblaster the other way round. Looks badass.

Agree. Nice army.

I hate people who don't paint their armies, hate them with all my guts. Beats me how they value other things over painting, like eating or brushing teeth.

That has turned out well for a speed paint, gives a gritty look anyway. Besides that the metal wizard is genuinly well done.

well, looks good so far,but you COULD drill up the Handguns,or simply paint a black spot that it looks like a hole

It's all a bit brown. Try to high light it with the base colour.

Other then that it's magnificent for a 2 month job. (what you painted in 2 months I can't even do in a year :P)

Very well done for a 2 month speed paint job. Some good conversions and a very nice unifying colour scheme throughout the army. Really good for the hobby that something that good could be done so fast

Looks very nice!  Did you use an army dip for the shading?

Thanks again for the compliments guys.  :icon_redface:
My painting has been on a standstill lately, but I should have 30 Flagellants and 20 Free Company finnished and uploaded sometime this week.
My Steamtank, 20 Goldswords and 10 additional Crossbows also came today, so the Hochland army grows!

Good idéa, it's been taken care of.

No. I used to dip, (my 40k CSM and some of my wood elves/dark elves are dipped), but I have switched to washes instead since it's easier to obtain, cheaper, the smell doesn't stay on the modell for 5 years and because I personally think it looks alot better - you also don't get the "shiny bling bling" effect.
My Empire are washed with Devlan Mud.

It's all a bit brown

That's probably due to the Devlan Mud wash + the fact that I use alot of Bestial Brown/Scorched Earth in my painting.

Good 'ol devlan mud!  Do you highlight again after the wash, or do you just leave it as is?

I leave it as it is.
If I were to highlight without washing, it would look way to bright, and if I were to wash the highlight, it would barely be noticable.

Gamezone miniatures (Empire range.)
The General is the 'General of Empire' and the mounted Warrior Priest is "'Ego Te Absolvo' Warrior Monk".
