The Empire Captain model looks great.

The Warrior Priest is nice but I think the blury photo doesn't help  :smile2:

Subscribed though.  I just started Empire and I may do Ostland Province.

Happy Painting,

Allan

The captain looks great and I suspect the photo doesn't do it justice so it would look even better with a better picture. Am I right in thinking the Warrior Priest is a WIP? Hard to tell from the picture. Either way, good work and welcome to the forum :::cheers:::

You done well, but try to add some color to the white it will make it more alive. White color is one of the hardest, couse it reflect all near colors.

I can tell this is going to be one of those must watch blogs considering the quality of painting even up to this stage.

Your shading and flesh tones are wonderful.  8-)

That banner is great -- not shoddy at all. It's well composed, bold, and I really like the lettering too.

I also like the captain with the sword and shield. The red is a nice splash of rich color, but doesn't disturb the black & white color scheme.

Well done!

@gamespoet

Thats not actually von raukovs head its a head from the archers sprue. i didnt like the actual von raukov model.

The red will be used as a splash of colour just to break up the monotony of the pure black and white

Nice stuff in here.  :eusa_clap:

Just a quick question, how do you paint your white? It looks like Astronomican Grey highlighted with White, is it that simple? I'm looking for white recipes for my Wissenland boys.

Whilst that would work i am old school and pedantic, so ill do:

black undercoat
2 thin coats of codex grey
fortress grey
astronomican grey
1:1 astronomican grey/skull white
skull white highlights

Although its time consuming its looks good. That being said for my rank and file (esp with horde rule now) i will be looking to speed it up so probably be

Adeptus battlegrey
astromnomican grey
skull white

Just for speed
