I'm sure you have all read the announcement regarding our new summer campaign, and if not, you should :

http://www.warhammer-empire.com/theforum/index.php?topic=31767.0

As you may or may not know, special army lists were constructed to support this campaign, which can be found here :

http://www.warhammer-empire.com/theforum/index.php?topic=32216.0

http://www.warhammer-empire.com/theforum/index.php?topic=32234.0

Right, if you are still here and reading, you must have finished reading the lists by now, because they are simply too good to put down once you've started.
I'm also quite convinced that while reading the lists, images of the various presented troops passed by your minds' eye.

Time to make them come "alive" !

As a first opportunity for that, you are invited to create your own character based on those in the aforementioned lists. This can be a condottiere, dwarf, ogre, halfling, rat,Orc, goblin, skeleton or wizard, a lord or a hero, it's all up to you. Just make that mini you're picturing in your mind.

Bonus points can be earned by depicting one or more of the lists' magic items on your mini, as well as by clearly illustrating the characters' skill(s).

Participants should send a picture of their converted mini to me via PM. Also, you must include a short description of what or who your mini is.

Something like : "Carlucciano de la banda bianca, Condottiere of His Lordship the
Duke of Miragliano, depicted riding his faithful steed Piccolino. He wears the Battle-harness of Curious Lethargy and carries a bottle containing the Liquor of Immovable Resolution. Being a quick shot, he carries two brace of pistols."

Entry in this competition will earn you Campaign Gold, and winning it (or ending well in the ranking) even more. This Gold will then be of use to you during the campaign (you never know who you want to hire, or bribe for that matter).
The deadline for this contest is March 1st, so get busy..

Sweet!

Only one entry per person, I assume? That seems to be the implication, but I didn't see a concrete statement to that effect...

As many entries as you like, as long as they are "serious" ones.

Otherwise everyone will enter every single swordsman they own...

Also, it won't matter how many entries you have with regard to the Gold you get for entering.

Of course, you have more chances of winning that way...

Sounds like a nifty idea!  It will be interesting to see what folks come up with for this. :icon_biggrin: :icon_cool:

OH... I see how it is... You already know that we are going to take over this campaign again so i guess you feel that you need to give the other factions a leg up to make it more challenging....

Ah! Just a conversion. Ok.

I've been contemplating bringing back my Averland character from CiM, yet I'm not sure I want to have him giving up command of the Aver River Regiment to turn merc.  Perhaps I'll use my Tilean character from Tobaro used during CiM instead.  Or maybe I'll come up with an entirely different character, and if this happens and I convert a figure for him, then there's nothing to say I couldn't use him in whatever capacity I choose further down the line when fluff for the factions is provided.

Ok ... to the bits box ...

Well, I will most likely create a Stirland or Middenland mercenary captain. My Wood elves will most likely pass up on the opportunity to mess around this time. Especially since there are so nice lists to play with.

At the moment, I only got GW bits, so likely that will be what it is made from.

(Gosh, that sentence sounds strange.)

Out of curiosity...

Does it have to be a single character, or can it be a small unit converted up to represent the special rules, like Skaven Pikemen?

Cheers,
