Hi i am new here and i this is my Caroleans thread

I'm really looking forvard to follow this plog. Is Carl Gustaf Armfeldt going to be the army's general, or will you field Carl XII himself?

I could'nt help but posting a few pics myself. I guess you've allready seen them though. First artist is unknown to me. The second two drawings are by Alf Lannerbäck:

Nice work! The only thing is, I always wonder at the need to convert empire troops to uniforms from different time periods when there are already so many awesome historical miniatures to choose from. I do understand the tournament thing. Maybe it's the challenge?

I was wondering the same thing. Surely buying 40-man warlord boxes for £15 pounds would be cheaper and easier to convert than using empire miniatures.

Good models though

@havre: Both these pictures are off Swedes having been to Norway for a real good asswhooping! My favourites too! I live in Trondheim. The first picture are Swedes withdrawing after a failed siege of Trondheim. Lot of them perished during the cold winter.

Thats some brilliant green stuff and a good paint scheme. Its so great when you can be inspiried by real world history!

The picture here shows Carl XII ravages through Europe at the time. Its a testimony to his military genius(or his generals). Sadly overshadowed by the likes of Napoleon. They both lost in the end! Its in Norwegian though, but you can atleast look at the map. I think he was a badass

This would be a better theme for a 40k army if you ask me. Im just interested as to how you will do other units without being very restricted on your selection.

not that much variation isn´t it?

You're not using your imagination

He'll be able to deploy pikemen, mortars, DOW light cavalry, Kislev cavalry and pistoliers as they are, and count-as helblasters, rockets(misc artillery types), archers(skirmishers modelled with rifles), and outriders(dragoons).

I have thought about a tank yes but i dont know how to do it yet.

I wrote that a bit wrong

he is supposed to be a general or something but he will be in the pistolier regiment.
