Von Gutenburgs Company
« on: December 07, 2009, 12:28:36 PM »
After what seems like years my Talabheim army is nearing completion.  I have shown various bits of this army on here before so if you've already seen one or two of the units I apologise. Theres a few things to add and a few to finish off but I am unlikely to get them done until after Christmas now.

First up, Von Guttenburgs personal honour guard (Greatswords) with Warrior Priest. I stole the idea for the Warrior Priest from Dark Apostle, hope you dont mind D.A...

Halberds (ouch, not sure how I missed that mould line!)

Spears with Amethyst Wizard Lucias Osterman. Im particuarly fond of the Sergeant with the greatsword and peg leg!

Very good looking army. They look rough and battle-hardened!
Stay away from my county though, we´re not big fans of Talabecs. I couldn´t guarantee your safety.
Hobbits are stupid, Talabecs are thieves and Averlanders reek of horse shit.

Aside from the cracking paint-job, I love the angle you took the picture of the 1st cannon from... intimidating  8-).

I think they look great. Everything looks crisp and well defined - I think you do a great job of leaving just the right amount of black lining between different blocks of color.

I can never seem to get it right: I either leave far too much or none at all.

Thanks guys. Got loads to paint at the moment, 2 Blood Bowl teams to finish, The Forest Guardians diorama Im doing for my girlfriend and other bits and bats so will probably be after Christmas before I do anything particuarly significant to the army. Got a Halfling Hotpot and Lumping Croops Fighting Cocks on the way though so they may well get preference!

I'm very impressed! Finally someone who isn't shy of the new empire models on this forum

Great work on the colors. A special mention should go to your whites, they look very crisp and clean. Excellent!

Very nice work. I really like the warrior priest in the greatswords unit. When I redo my empire I will be doing a warrior priest of ulric along those lines.

@ Dino - Thanks man. To be fair, I pretty much stole the idea for the Warrior Priest from Dark Apostle off this very forum!  :icon_redface:

Fantastic, first-rate army.  Really great work.

Oh, I looked the the halberd photo for 5 minutes and still didn't see the mold line.

A quick update, my Halfling Hotpot.

I've just noticed that I've forgotten to paint the crews teeth! I've also got to put water effects on the contents of the pot to make it look suitably slimey!
