My Nordland army
« on: November 30, 2009, 11:19:39 AM »
Hey guys!

I have about 3k of points of Empire, though only two detachments are finished (embarrassing? yeah) so I thought I'd show them.

Swordsmen

Handgunners

And of course the entire army is now magnetized:

The rest of the army got based yesterday, a lot is partly painted, hope to update it all soon, it shouldn't take too long with it  :biggriin:
Have a war altar I need to convert as well, thought I'd do step by step stuff on that one  :smile2:

Cheers guys!

Looks rather nice, out of curiosity did you use the dipping method on them?

Kind of struck me as that sort of finish but it seems a little uniform so may just be your painting style

Also I echo Obi, want to see more

Yeah, these are dipped, though I don't "dip" them per se, I paint the dip on. These two units I rushed through though so they've got a bit too much dip on them, hopefully the other units will be better  :smile2:

Holy shit! You're alive! I've been checking when you were active, but it's been a while.

being slightly new to painting (though I try)
please bear with this naive question:

what the heck is the "dip"?

skipper, check out the following link to a tutorial on it. Essentially you dip your painted miniatures (just base coats) in a polyurathane wood stain and shake off the excess, or brush it on for better control. Then let them dry. The stain shades the paint job for you. If done right it looks really good, if not...well...
