Great choice of head for the champion, totally fits the knights panther theme!  8-)

Lovely paint job. I very much like the head swap you did for the champion.

How did you do the shading/highlighting on the horses barding? Various layers or maybe a wash..?

I used boltgun metal as a basic colour, I than washed it with devlan mud (or black wash for the deepest reccesses) and than I highlighted it with boltgun metal, mix of boltgun metal and mithril silver - 50/50 and finally with mithril silver.

Looking really good! I love that you went for metal armour and barding, makes them look more in line with historical knights. The head swap is bang on target, looks excellent on the first knight.

Great looking unit. Nobody's mentioned the bases yet. They look really good.
I'm considering doing something similar for my army. Is the texture on them pre-sculpted or did you add that yourself? If you added it, can you tell me a bit about what you did?

Excellent work.  Which head is it that you used for the champion?

well, I made it myself and it's not difficult - I added some plaster (gypsum) on the bases and before it dried I made the texture on it with knife - it's really very easy, one base took me about 5 - 10 minutes and it looks good when it is painted (again nothing difficult - basic colour is terra, than strong black wash, then serie of drybrushes - with terra and various mixes of terra and stonewall grey). Sorry for my english, I'm not the native speaker

The Empire is lucky to have such strong, bold and well dressed knight! Truly astonishing work!
I´m so inspired, I´ll start with my knights right away and postpone my halberds. =)
