fbjorn's Nordland collection - Marienburger Captain
« on: May 01, 2009, 09:59:59 PM »
Hi,

I have painted empire for seven years now. Since I'm a very slow painter and now have four kids and a lot of other things to do my collection of painted models are not that big.

Anyhowe I got this new digital camera last summer so I thought it was time to document the army. Previously I have had two 'Nicon cool pix'. But on the first my second son just pushed the lens back into the house and it never came out again. On the second a small sand grain from the beach someware made it impossible to focus from a close distance. So now I have a "Olympus u1030" that I hope will survive for a while.

Many of the minis have been shown before on this fine forum, but I felt I wanted to bring them all together and maybe use this thread as a base for a painting blog ( I hope you don't mind ). A few has not been shown before though.

First a picture from my "photo studio" right at my kitchen window.

I'm not very good at fluff so I don't even have names for all my heroes, but here they are.

Firs some mounted guys.

Here are my captain, BSB and a WP. The WP is named "brother Bertil" and is dedicated to my oldest son.

A couple of engineers (like me) and the wizard Gosta dedicated to my second son.

@Silvero and Inarticulate - thanks!  :::cheers:::

Now some troupes

Those spearmen was the second regiment I painted.

Here are their detachment

Some free companies

X-Bows

Those Sigmarite knites are supposed to look as they are used to spend month out in the field, without any other shelter than the sky.

some outrides

Finally flagellants

More to come

I like that you've scraped away the HUMONGOUS plumes on the Knight's helmets. Took me a while to think where you got those awesome new helmets :D

@Siberius - thanks! If I had started today though I might have chosen a more dull yellow like Malvino

Those pistoleres are not shown before

Neither is this grate cannon

I just have to throw this luthor model in as well, even if he's not in my collaction any longer (I made him and gave him away in Lord Soths fine "pleasant surprise" event last year). But I intend to make another some day, because I liked him so much.

That's it. I have some new projects coming and either I turn this thread into a blog or start another more "blogich" thread.

Thanks f bjorn

tanks all

@steveb - I'm glad I can return some inspiration to you. (I have actually shown some of them before, but it was some time since now.)

@bonedoc - It's daylight right from my kitchen window. Sunny days are best, The sun light is indirect since the window is located to the north.

wow great.

Can I get a run down on how you paint your blue? it's awesome.
The greatest form of control which can go on forever until it is exposed is a tyranny you can't see, touch and taste (unlike totalitarian Govts). When you sit in a prison cell but can't see the bars, because people don't rebel against not being free when they think they're are.

Thanks!

Can I get a run down on how you paint your blue? it's awesome.
It's midnight blue as a base. Then it's enchanted blue and last enchanted blue mixed with white for highlights.(or just ice blue or lightning blue if I don't feel for mixing) I try to keep a line of midnight blue at the edges, especially where blue meets yellow.

DUDE! You have a huge pair of nuts there!  ::heretic:: And you have great taste in miniature tripods.
You should see the bolt  ::heretic::

Please add your WP to my Badass Warrior Priest thread.
OK, I will.
