First reponse was "Who gave the empires poets bows?"

Second response was "Cool"
I thought he should act responsibly and just kill himself.

Awesome. Only one way to describe them. Some have weird poses or slightly oversized feathers, but awesome work overall.

I think they look pretty decent overall, may pick some up.
I do wonder about the guy in the middle though.  I get the impression that he perhaps just a bit senile in his old age and is busy hunting pheasants at the edge of the battlefield while the rest of the unit is busy shooting at the enemy, the old man not even realizing that there's a war going on.

The guy holding the pheasant looks ridiculous in my opinion.

The other models remind me very much of the original metal Archers, but with better poses, so I think that they are a definite improvement over the current Huntsmen, which is a relief, as given the mess that GW made of the seventh edition State Troops, I wasn't expecting very much at all.

Those are just what I wanted! Perfect stuff. I gonna get myself one box and retire my present huntsmen to the status of regular archers. :icon_mrgreen:

I like them both.
I will prob buy the archers, they look fun to paint. Just annoying they chose archers, of all models, to release!

GS look nice, I especially like the banner bearer, but I already have 20, and rarely use them, so can't see myself buying these

Hey, dont going to use them as huntsmen at all. But they would become great swordsmen detachment for my polland greatswords in my Husit army!  :biggriin:

They look good - one or two of the heads have a distinctive Kossar look.

Given the clothing though I would guess they are a one-piece body?

As usual I will get a box to see the conversion possibilities.

This picture gives a much better view of the Greatswords - and Shadowlord was right - they do look much better when you can see the detail.
Again though I would like to see the sprue and if the legs are sepaarte from the torsos.

Oh no... I wanna know what I get. I at least want to be able to judge wether the guy in front of me is fighting with a greatsword, or if he really is just waving a dagger around... :closed-eyes:

Its ok, wait until next ed and they bring WYSIWYG in as a rule, then you will have to change all your figures, long term evil plans from GW, trust me ;)

Other than that the Greatswords look, well, meh, dont do it for me at all compared to the metal figs.

The archers look nice, very elizabethan I though and not very "empire" at all.

Being right is the fourth rule of being a GW/Empire fanboi.

I see half of these with left plate arms and I like what I see.

The huntsmen are just insanely good.

@ rufus: I suspect that GW may have seen a decline in State Trooper sales mayhaps and returned to a style that is quite 5th ed. but with new sex thrown in (like the Blood Letters resembling IIRC 4th ed.). I like the 7th ed. State Troopers but I have a passion for the 6th ed. plastics mixed with parts of the new stuff (but only with a third of the bling-bling).

The first 7th edition unit for the empire that I actually want in terms of aesthetics are those archers. I don't know why but I'm going to have to retire my old archers to free company duty or simply field huntsman. It still pains me to ask why our state troops ended up the way they did if this was the potential.

Looks like someone was out walking the dog when GW released the 5th ed. archers, or the re-released the same minis in this 7th ed...

I had to rub my eyes for grime, I am stunned by disbelief. I never thought an empire model would reach the standards of 6th edition again. Next to the huntsmen the greatswords look like a great steamy turd, but that's alright.
I agree with the inhumane treatment of animals.
