Conversion contest 2009/1

VOTE NOW ! Sticky in the B&P ! (http://www.warhammer-empire.com/theforum/index.php?topic=28760.0)

As some may remember, conversion contests are a long standing tradition of W-E, a tradition sadly neglected recently.

Well aware of the fact that your creative juices have been building up enormously in the last year or so, we thought it was time for another one...

SirUlrich and SpaceCowboy, the winners of the last contest, were given the honour of thinking up a new theme, and came up with this :

Things with Wings

You are required to convert an Imperial character, mounted on a "winged" (flying) creature.

Captasus, Casketasus, Gelt, another wizard on a pegasus, Generals and Elector Counts on griffons, Karl Franz riding the Imperial dragon, engineers in war balloons / flying ships...

Any of those will be eligible for entrance in the competition. Since some of these projects take some time, you are granted a total of 3 months production time, starting Februari 1st. This explicitly means that existing models may not be entered ! Your project must have been completed in the prescribed period.

Anybody wishing to participate should reply to this post. You are not allowed to share WIP photos of your project, since judging will be anonymous.

At the end of the 3 month period (May 1st is the deadline), you are required to send one or two photos of your entry (one unpainted and optionally one painted) to me by mail or PM. All entries will then be judged by poll and the winner gets to reap eternal fame and a yet undefined, but most certainly fantastic prize...

I'm trying to get my army painted, so not sure I'll give this a try, but it is good to see one going. :icon_cool:

I am up for it, even though my army has NO need for a Captasusdragonballoon or anything similar... maybe inspiration will strike!

Well, I'm in. I'm nearly finished with my war altar anyway. So I needed a new new project  :biggriin:

Is there a restriction on how large this model can be?

A General on Griffon would make a nice centrepiece for my army, I am sorely tempted here.....

I'm in too.   Now I really have incentive to get stuff done :smile2:, is it the same as the last contest and they don't necissarily need to be painted in the time period but the conversion must be complete. Or is the painting a big part of it.  Also can more than one model be entered?

strictly speaking, the golden griffon on a war altar is winged... but i don't think war altars are meant to be in it!

I'll pass on this one. 'Things with wings' isn't something I want in my army, so I'll wait for the next one.

Good luck to all participants!
