I finished Volume 1 of the Magic Tactica - How the Empire uses magic. Thank you for all your submissions to it. Calvin should be posting it in the War Room over the next couple of days.

Powder Monkey made the final selection of models that were included in the work and he modified the images and played with whichever photo editor program he uses.

You may lynch him for any errors and ommisions or for not including your model.

I now have to work on Volume 2 of the Tactica - How the Lores of Magic stack up against each of our enemies and I'm looking for submissions for that.

If you havent been following the thread in the Elector's Forum, the new submissions list each of the armies we face and provides commentary and analysis of how each Lore stacks up against them. We're looking at a lot of text and I need something to break up the monotony of it. I'm not sure what kind of images would work - maybe Empire troops in action against specific army types? Or wizards on the battle field? Maybe just representative pieces from each enemy army?

Your thoughts and submissions for appropriate images would be appreciated.

For your information, the armies we are dealing with are:

Bretonnia
Chaos
Dwarfs
Dark Elves
Empire
Orcs
Skaven
Vampires
Wood Elves
Ogre Kingdoms

Generic Shooty Armies

Considering this thread is dealing with how the Empire deals with the above enemies, I didn't think it was out of place to solicit images here, but if the mods feel this is better in the Count's Tavern, then please move it.

And don't let it get you down when your picture wasn't included. Often I chose not to include certain pictures not for the quality of their paint job, but rather for poor picture quality, model redundany or simply the size of the other guys bribes. Just learn from it this time - You want to become immortal in the War Room? PM me for my swiss bank account number! Easy!

I have enough painted models done to an acceptable level to give plenty of Chaos Demon, mortal, and beast pics in action against Empire. How many pictures of that sort do you need? I can Photoshop in appropriate backgrounds to make them look good.

I think it would be nice to have pictures of our wizards casting spells at enemy models. Like an slightly out of focus wizard lord on pegasus in the front of the picture, with its back to the camera, and a decimated unit of goblins fleeing before him in 'loose formation'. I can add in flames and dead gobbos later, I just don't have the models or enough camera skills...

No, no,it's not heretical but Blessed! See the request was for pictures that show the Empire in action taking down the enemies of Sigmar! This is instructional. A sort of "How To Kill the Enemies of The Empire". It's perfectly legit. If certain members somehow have "access" to "intelligence" that will help our war effort, such as pictures of particularly Vile Abominations that we need to be aware of, we should all applaud and commend them for contributing to the cause!

Thanks! It would be great to get a variety of shots to be able to pick and choose appropriate images. I would go so far as to say that creative postures and photographs would be appreciated.

Well? Let's see 'em! We will gladly take any pictures, painted or unpainted. Just assemble some nice dioramas or simply a unit of the Empires enemies, take a photo, and post it here. Some pointers:

1) Most digital cameras have a 'macro' setting. It's ideal for close up photography.

2) Make sure the camera is static while you take the picture. Use a tripod or just set the camera down on some books or something. Then use the time-delayed trigger, as even pressing a button will shake the camera enough to influence picture quality.

3) Lighting. Get as many lamps as you can get to light the scene. Light from different directions to avoid shadows. Use daylight when possible. Try taking the picture with and without flashlight.

4) Make sure the unit you want to take a photo of is in focus. Press the button used to take the picture halfway down. This should trigger the autofocus feature without taking a photo. The point of focus is then shown on the cameras display. Make sure the camera didn't focus on something behind or in front of the intended object.

5) Post the pictures on www.photobucket.com or something similar.

6) Become an immortalized and famous member of the forum! Everybody will look up to you, not to mention the impact you will have on girls from now on... Ah, what a great life it is for a contributor to the magic tactica...
