Looks good so far, I think once you finished the whole mini, then the highlights will be more subtle yet stand out.

Next, I'm going to edge highlight the few models i finished before i started this blog (and those in the first post) and re-post them, then I've been thinking about finishing a handgunner regeiment of 10-12 models. I actually don't have any finished unit painted Middenheim scheme...

Update "when It's finished".

I can see the difference. Plus this is a picture and pictures are evil to miniatures, so its probably a lot better in real life. Your doing great. A lot better then when i first started out.

Good job ziggy

Man, those unipose handgunners have some ugly faces. No offense to you... your paint job is just fine, actually.  The scuplts just aren't good.  I Like what you've done with the reloading handgunner though... your paintjob has given him some personality. :biggriin:

Long time gone...

Anyway here's an update!

I have not been painting for a while, but here's a recently finished model.

Without Shield

With Shield

He's captain Lars Ulrich of The Grey Wolfs. In larger games he will be a sergant and in smaller he'll act as a captain.

The Grey wolfs are like (and don't call me nazi for this, I don't agree to anything that Hitler did and I feel really sorry for all of those affected during his reign, buti couldn't find any other good example) Hitlerjugend and then Wermacht where, they train youngsters in handling arms and to respect and hone the way of Ulric. After a few years of training in The Gray Wolfs, the youngsters may test and maybe make it through to become a White Wolf.

The regiment of Grey Wolfs are gonna be a state troopers regiment with spears and shields. Here's one of them, blurry picture.

After a few years of training in The Gray Wolfs, the youngsters may test and maybe make it through to become a White Wolf.

Youngsters will have a hard time, you need to kill a wolf with your bare hands to become a White Wolf Knight (WFRP fluff) :smile2:

Nice model, I like him more than handgunners - you could use some watered black ink/wash to make some shades on the metal parts if you want.
"Victory awaits him who has everything in order -- luck, people call it. Defeat is certain for him who has neglected to take the necessary precautions in time; this is called bad luck." - Roald Amundsen, possibly about battlegaming

Yeah, they are a bit shiny.

Regarding the killing wolf part, I mentioned a test, not really sure how the test will be, but killing a wolf with your bare hands is surely a part of it!

I have'nt been painting much of my middenhiem army recently, been to sucked up with the release of the new 40K edition.

I've decided to start a new 40K army, but have no fear. I have not fallen from the light of The Emperor.  ::heretic:: My new army is an army of Blood Angels Space Marines!

Here's a few of the models I've been working on:

I managed to get my hands on two pair of Assualt On Black Reach Space Marines sprues, so here is the vet sergant from the tactical squad, before and after conversion to make him look different than the other one.

Before:

After a greivous wound outside the walls of Gosphora Hive:

He somehow managed to grow hair betweem those points...  :-D

Both together:

And here's some painted Scouts with snipers:
