That whole unit looks impressive.

Good army standard but it is the whole unit with the pointy thingies that nails it.

Very cool looking pikemen. Might be silly to ask but is their anything else for you to do with this army or will you starting another soon?

If you was to do it all again and using the same whits colour, but had to use another colour than the blue, what would you use.

To bee honest I love the whith theme, and am going to gloriously steal it, hope that is ok, best form of praise i believe.

But was thinking what else could be another good contrast??

Any primary toned down. Except bright yellow...

My artillery is red, so you can see that.

Green, provided you get the right green.

Make it bright, whatever you do.

The important part is to pick a colour straight from the pot, for colour consistency....

well deserved!

My favorite part are all the little head/weapon swaps, conversions and mixing of different edition soldiers. Very inspirational!

so, how big an army can you muster now when the next giant waaagh hits?

Thanks for sharing.

Nice! Good job! I spotted two things, though: One of the front rankers' pike has yellow instead of blue ornaments, but this may be intentional... But two pikes seem to be missing their little details all together! Can't fin out which ones though, but I'm sure you know which ones I mean. Ran out, I take?

You mean the "flosjkes". The new spearmen do not all have this, which explains it. The yellow pike tip indicates the sergeant.

For the pike shafts : I cut them as close to the hands as possible, or at a suitable point, like the ring on the newer spears.
Then I measure how long the extension should be by putting hands, rod and spear tip next to a ruler (My total chosen length was 4 inches).
Cut the rod to size (cleanest way is to roll it back and forth with your knife blade, this will saw through the material without deforming it.
Then drill a hole in the hand and one in the spear tip, insert brass pin, slide aluminium rod over that, glue it, paint... In some cases I added the rod after painting the soldiers' body, to be able to reach all parts.

Materials used : 0.014(0.016?)  inch brass pins , 1/16 th inch alu tubing (K&S engineering stock #1008) I prefer alu over brass, because it's lightweight enough not to pull the plastic figures I used over. Of course, if you possess Midaskis' collection, you just go all metal minis and brass rod...  :engel:

Great looking Pikes. Up to the usual excellant standard. As for 30,000 views, well it has been nearly two years and you have been consistantly posting excellant figures for us to view. Long may it continue.
