Having been through all 17 or so pages, it's become clear to me that I like this army an awful lot! The colour scheme works marvelously, as do all the variations on it; it's all unique but not out of place. I particularly like the Arch Lector, who makes a welcome break from all the Imperial hammer wielding hunks of the cloth.

Gustavus Magnus

WOW.

Most impressive.  And I have to say I love the pikes.
Gustavus Magnus, of Bögenhafen; Mercenary Captain, Explorer, Spy, Scout, and Outrider.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Now, on to some serious artillery. I wanted to make enough mortars for the 6 pie plate of Doom army, but one thing has been holding me back : I'd rarely use these models, since, really, I prefer cannons over mortars.
I looked into the Workshop article on making the barrels interchangeable, but disliked the look of the mortat barrel on the long beams...
12 magnets later, I had the solution. I liked it so much, I made two (although that also had another reason, but I'll tell you about that in due time..)

Oh, and since this is a MORtar that can be changed into a cannON, guess what I called it ?

Indeed.... a MORON...  :engel:

Coming from the man who's done it all, that is an enormous compliment. Thank you Steve.

The rocket battery looks excellent. I want to do something similar myself as the regular one looks a bit off.

Valetus

Really like the rockets, look a lot more sensible than the actual model

Dude, the guy at the back just saw the Tomb Scorpion tunelling up behind them!  :-o

I just LOVE the pikemen. All the soldiers look brilliant (all the more since Reiklanders are a pain in the but to paint even just decently), but the pikemen take the cake.

I'm not into them ;)

Really though, they are fantastic :icon_exclaim:  one question though, why is the pistol ogres gut and chest a different color? warpaint? sunburn?   I always thought it would be funny to give a shirtless model tanlines.

I love two out of the three ogres.  But the one on the right looks odd.  Like I said before, the shield is out of place, especially with how you painted the ogre.

I hate people who don't paint their armies, hate them with all my guts. Beats me how they value other things over painting, like eating or brushing teeth.

Obi

so did I...
