:icon_eek: never thought of this! Was checking out my NEB and I can't see anything that would imply you not being able to S&S with it.

But it's very weird, since he can have two different "missile weapons" gun and then pigeon bombs - RAW would imply that he can stand and shoot with it but logic would have it that you can only fire your gun as stand and shoot reaction.

Throwing a pigeon at charging enemy just doesn't fit to me, as hilarious as it may be  :biggriin:

As I recall (I'm not near my book at the minute) it says it classes as a missile weapon with the profile listed. There's nothing I can see either in the description or anywhere else that suggests it isn't just like a repeater handgun, hochland or other such weapon.

I think RaW here would be no different to any other multiple weapon situation - also a ranged attacker can only attack once per turn unless specifically stated in the description of the unit or weapon. As there is no difference, I personally feel that you have to choose which of the missile weapons you want to use and stick to that for the turn.

I think as an opponent I would gladly let you stand and shoot with pigeon bombs. Seeing as you roll your results before moving the chargers in I'll bank on the misfire destroying you before I get my charge :)

I think that you cannot as stand and shooting is targeted at a unit whilst the pigeon bomb targets any model in line of sight. This is however my oppinion and how I would play it.

Arm the engineer with the grenade launcher to stand and shoot with and the pigeon bombs for everything else. It is a little expensive, but the look on your opponent's face is worth it.

RaW here dictates that you can stand and shoot, because it is a missile weapon. So I think that yes, you can stand and shoot with it. But is it worth it?

Probably not worth it, but I would still make a small pigeon model.

It's totally legal....and heck it gives you the chance to blow yourself up before the enemy kills your engineer  :|. If it matters it's a nice way to deny your enemy kills.

Thanks guys, so that's how I tought it was...I might see what I can do out of it.

I think that with light Armor+Bd+Wh/mech-steed with a 4+save the pigeon is less treatening to the engineer and theirs also the WP prayers to help restore would and give 4+ ward save. There's only 1/6 chance that you hit yourself, 2/3 to wound, 1/3 you save and you have another wound left so it's not SO bad...

I feel like I could find some use to it, with war machine crews place the crews far away enough from the engineer and with the cav. base it's easy to avoid hitting the crews.

I think that against armies that have good war machine hunters the engineer should go with cav. or infantry units. The way to use him is to load him with most of his weapons so you can/must use the right one every turn.

Desperatly trying to find the best way to use him as an all-round character...without let him home that is.
